Spirit and Clay
ABOUT THE ARTIST My spirituality and creativity are woven together as I work with clay. As I work with a lump of clay on the potter’s wheel, I am taking the earth and working with it to create something beautiful, something useful, something that perhaps speaks of God. Creating pottery is a dynamic process; a transformative process, which starts with the raw materials and ends after entry into the “fiery furnace.” In a similar way, the spiritual journey is a process of transformation which involves God’s creativity at work in our lives. All work created at Spirit and Clay is hand made. Items are made to be used and enjoyed. Clay pieces are functional. Each piece is unique. Even in a matched set, there are subtle differences in the shape or glaze that give each piece a slightly different character. Pieces are made with stone-ware and can be used in the microwave, dishwasher or oven. All functional ware are made with lead-free glazes. Wendy Wahn 517-230-9785 wmwahn@gmail.com
